---- — Boil orders from DCRW

Daviess County Rural Water issued two new boil orders over the weekend for customers on CR 500E, south of CR 600S, including Hudsonville customers, and CR 725N, west of CR 1100 E. The boil orders remain in effect until further notice.

Reading roundtable at Library

The Washington Carnegie Public Library invites you to participate in a reading roundtable. This group will meet once a month to share what you are reading with others and gain new insights into your fellow patron’s opinions on new and old books. Join them on Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the small meeting room at the library. For more information call the library at 254-4586.

Gerritsen to answer questions

One Book One Community — Author of The Bone Garden Tess Gerritsen will be answering questions and signing books at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Washington High School auditorium. The author dinner sponsored by the Friends of the Library will be from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the library.

Deadline extended for Quarters

Washington High School STAND Quarter Mile of Quarters campaign has been extended until Oct.31. Also, several more businesses in town are participating: Touch of Heaven, White Steamer, Reid’s Deli, Hacienda El Asadero & Mi Pueblo.

Archery shoot on Thursday

Washington Conservation Club will hold a 3D archery shoot on Thursday with a buffalo target at 100 yards. The price is $5 for three shots with the payout being half of the pot.

Washington board to meet

Washington Community Schools board will meet in executive session at 5 p.m. Thursday. The open session will immediately follow.
