The Breast Cancer Sharing and Surviving support group will meet from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Specialty Clinic Room 254 at Daviess Community Hospital.

Neat Feet clinic next Friday

Daviess Community Hospital’s Neat Feet Clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Senior and Family Services. Appointments must be made in advance by calling 254-8855. Cost is $25.

Plainville library to hold book sale

There will be a book sale at the Plainville Branch Library (building behind the First National Bank of Odon ATM on SR 57) through Dec. 19 at the following times: Mondays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Thursdays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The branch library will close permanently on Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. Internet access, copy and fax services are still available until the closing date.

City Council to meet Monday

The Washington City Council will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers, 200 Harned Ave., on the proposed sewer rates and charges.

The Council meeting will follow. Items included on the agenda: reading of several resolutions authorizing transfer of funds; reading of ordinance amending sewage rates and charges; election of Council president; appointment of Board of Public Works and Safety members; commission appointments.

The Board of Public Works and Safety will meet following the Council meeting. Items on the agenda include: discussion/approval of supplement to INDOT agreement for street sign inventory and agreement between city, Daviess County Soil and Water Conservation District, and rate contract with Quest Liner, Inc.
