Saturday's Police Report



11:20 a.m. - A patrolman was stopped by an employee of Casey’s, 2009 E. Nat’l Hwy., and told officers someone driving a silver Cadillac Deville had pumped $42 in gas and drove off without paying.


7:04 p.m. - Police were called to a traffic accident at the intersection of E. National Highway and S.E. 21st Street. Officers say no one was injured but there was damage to a tractor-trailer and a Jeep.

8:07 p.m. - A resident reported to police that someone had stolen a CD player, amplifier and speakers out of a vehicle parked at 5 W. Nat’l Hwy.



7:44 a.m. - Deputies were called to the fairgrounds in Elnora where the carnival reported a golf cart had been stolen. At 12:34 p.m an officer found the golf cart at 310 North St. in Elnora.

3:16 p.m. - A deputy stopped an ATV at Dody’s Orchard on SR 57 S. The subject had been driving on the road looking for some loose cows. The vehicle also lacked an off-road registration. Warnings were issued.

10:31 p.m. - A resident complained of a loud party at 525E SR 57 with people fighting. Deputies at the scene talked to the people and they all decided to go to bed.


Matthew Warne, 26, Montgomery, was arrested by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant with three counts of forgery and three counts of defrauding a financial institution. He is being held in the Daviess County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Angela Willis, 45,Lawrenceville, Ill., was arrested by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant for a petition to revoke a suspended sentence for battery resulting in bodily injury. She is free on $10,000 bond.

Dalton Watts, 18, Robinson, Ill., was arrested by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant charging for forgery, theft-receiving stolen property, and two counts of theft. He is free on $7,500 bond.

Michael Slunder, 65, Washington, was arrested by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant for failure to appear for battery resulting in bodily injury. He is free on $2,000 bond.

Hector Mora-Garcia, 52, Washington. was arrested by Washington City Police on a charge of operating a motor vehicle having never received a license. He is free on $2,000 bond.
