Thursday's Police Report



1:55 p.m. - An employee of Wal-Mart, 1801 S. SR 57, reported two female shoplifters had been obtained in the store. The two women attempted to take $188.44 worth of merchandise. The women were long-formed for theft.

11:22 a.m. - A caller on South Meridian Street reported three juveniles playing on a trash heap. The juveniles were told not to play there and were instructed to pick up the trash that had been disturbed.

8:54 a.m. - Trudy Godfrey, East Van Trees Street, reported a motorcycle engine had been stolen from her garage. The engine was later located.

12:28 a.m. - Subjects had rearranged the letters on the sign near Eastside Park. The letters were fixed.


Multiple power outages were reported throughout the city after storms passed through the area Tuesday afternoon.



8:44 p.m. - A caller near 140N 650E, Montgomery, reported someone was hung up in his driveway and making threats to him.

1:50 p.m. - A caller at 3541 W. Old U.S. 50 reported a semi truck was stuck down a dead end of the old highway and can’t turn around without officer assistance.

11:40 a.m. - A caller near Walnut Hill Cemetery, Odon, reported a log had fallen off a truck.

11:15 a.m. - A caller at Fast Max, Elnora, caught a subject stealing White Castle hamburgers from the store.

9:15 a.m. - A caller on SR 57S reported someone had tried to pry open the door.

7:29 a.m. - A caller at 10342E 1000N, Odon, said someone had vandalized her parents fence. State police were contacted.


Andrew Sanders, 23, Elnora, was arrested Tuesday by Elnora police for theft and possession of marijuana. No bond was set.

Leland Akers, 35, Princeton, was arrested Tuesday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant for two counts of writ of attachment. Bond was set at $1,500.

Shaun Osborn, 35, Washington, was arrested Tuesday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department for battery. Bond was set at $2,000.

Jeff Chancellor, 22, Jasper, was arrested Tuesday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on an out of county warrant. No bond was set.
