Christmas in the Park on Thursday

WASHINGTON — The Washington Parks and Recreation Department will host “Christmas in the Park” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Dec. 20.

Everyone is invited to visit Eastside Park to view the beautiful Christmas lights and displays and enjoy carriage rides and Santa’s train rides. Inside the Community Building enjoy hot chocolate and cookies and children can visit with Santa Claus and receive a candy cane. 

On both evenings from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bethany Christian Church will provide Christmas caroling in front of the Community Building.

Gospel Center to show movie

Gospel Center Church, 420 E. Illinois St., Petersburg, will present the movie “La Montana” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Odon library board to meet

The Board of Trustees of the Odon Winklepleck Public Library will meet at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the library.

DCH Auxiliary hosting sale

The Daviess Community Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary is hosting a Charlie’s Candy and Tastefully Simple Sale on Thursday, Dec. 13, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the hospital’s Education Center.

A variety of candies and dips and mixes will be available. Proceeds from the sale are used by the auxiliary to purchase hospital equipment.
