INDOT to repave SR 58 Monday

ODON — INDOT to repave SR 58 Monday

The Indiana Department of Transportation  has announced that SR 58 in Daviess County will undergo resurfacing this year.

Beginning on or after Monday, crews will begin work activities on SR 58 between SR 358 south of Elnora and US 231 in Farlen.

During construction flag personnel will be used to control traffic through the work zone, however, drivers should anticipate delays.

Milestone Contractors, Inc. of Indianapolis was the lowest bidder with $720,672.07 in the May letting.

Independence Day closings

The following are area closings for the  Independence Day holiday Thursday:

*PACE Community Action Agency will be closed.

*City of Washington offices will be closed. There will be no trash pickup, and the city bus will not run. Residents with trash pick up on Thursday are asked to have their trash ready for pick up by 7 a.m. Friday. The recycling center will also be closed.

*Daviess County Family Y.M.C.A. will be closed.

*The Daviess County Courthouse and Highway Department will be closed.

*Senior and Family Services will be closed Thursday and Friday (Med X-Press and in-home services will still be available Friday).

*Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Office and Visitor’s Bureau will be closed.

*Economic Development Corp. will be closed.

*Washington Carnegie Public Library will be closed.

*U.S. Postal Service will be closed.

*The license branch will be closed.

*Retired Senior Volunteer Program offices will be closed.

*Indiana Workforce Development Center will be closed.

*Daviess County Landfill will be closed.

*The Washington Times Herald office will be closed and will not publish a paper.

*Ride Solution will be closed.
