WASHINGTON — CITY REPORT

Wednesday

12:38 p.m. — An employee of Head Start said a rail car was on fire at B-W Services. Firefighters found out the yard was burning off excess gas in a controlled fire.

12:25 p.m. — A male caller said someone was posting windshield repair signs on utility poles around the city. The salesman was found and the signs were removed.

12:17 p.m. — A male caller said a male was at La Esquina, 502 W. VanTrees St., trying to pass a counterfeit $100 bill. The caller said the tall, white male drove off in a black late-model Saturn. An investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday 11:45 p.m. — A female caller at 808 Jefferson St., said a tall, white male was walking through her yard. The caller thought the male was trying to break into a shed on the property and ran off when the female looked out the window.

  

COUNTY REPORT

Tuesday

10:41 p.m. — A caller on W. Garten St., Odon, advised someone had broken into her home. 

8:02 a.m. — A caller on Second St., Elnora, advised two of her vehicles had been broken into and cd’s, change and a key to one of the vehicles was taken. 

5:18 p.m. — A caller on S. Odon St., Elnora, advised someone had broken into his truck last night and taken cd’s, $15 in change and his air freshener. 

6:45 a.m. — A caller on west Indian St., Elnora, advised someone had broken into his car, damaged the interior and had taken several items.

6:43 a.m. — A caller on E. South Third St., Odon, reported as she was looking out her window, she saw a man going through her trash on her property. The suspect was wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket.

 Wednesday 1:08 a.m. — A caller on Matilda St, Elnora, advised there was a suspicious man on her porch and in her van. The caller’s son in law was chasing the two subjects. Another subject in the area advised he had seen a male subject wearing a black hat, blue jeans and black shirt in the area. 

ARRESTS

Jerry R. Hartzog, 42, Indianapolis, was arrested by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday on three counts of operating a vehicle having never been licensed, possession of marijuana and dealing marijuana. Bond was set at $6,000.

Jessica E. Harkness, 35, Odon, was arrested Tuesday by Odon police on a warrant for six counts of theft.  She was released on $2,500 bond.
