Juveniles called on water balloons



5:23 p.m. - An adult male shoplifter was seen at Sav-A-Lot, 300 S.E. 21st St. A suspect was named and charges were to be filed.

4:26 p.m. - A female caller said juveniles were throwing water balloons at cars on McCormick Avenue. The caller was worried about damage to her vehicle, but no one was found in the area.



1:40 a.m. - A caller on St. John’s Road reported a vehicle had run off the road and into a ditch. The owner had run out of gas.


9:22 p.m. - A caller at 2782 SR 57S reported a possible fraud on her computer and personal information obtained. A report was made and financial institutions were to be notified.

2:44 p.m. - An employee of Fast Max, Elnora, reported that a vehicle drove off without paying for $38.37 in fuel.

2:05 p.m. - A caller on CR 150W reported a car in the ditch near Old Vincennes Road. The vehicle was not damaged.

11:49 a.m. - A caller on Edwardsport Road reported a minor accident. A vehicle had gone into the ditch near St. John’s Cemetery. Someone had pulled the vehicle from the ditch.

8:58 a.m. - A caller near Chuckles in Odon reported that a telephone line was down near the convenience store. Witnesses thought a white truck had struck the pole and left the scene.

5:38 a.m. - A drive off was reported at Chuckles on U.S. 50 in Loogootee. The older blue Ford pickup was headed toward Daviess County.


Jerry Betz, 26, Odon, was arrested Tuesday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department for intimidation. Bond was set at $15,000.

Tyler Benjamin Kelly, 18, Montgomery, was arrested Tuesday by Indiana State Police on three counts of illegal possession of alcohol, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $6,000 bond.
