The Indiana Archaeological Society will sponsor a prehistoric Native American artifact and arrowhead show at the Sullivan County 4-H fairgrounds on July 28 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Items from some of the best collections in the Midwest will be on display. The fairgrounds are located on E. Washington Street in Sullivan. Admission is free. For more information, contact 812-665-3786.
West End reunion on Saturday
The West End reunion is set for Saturday staring at noon at Eastside Park. Anyone who currently lives, or has lived from the city’s West End is invited to take part in raffles, a tribute table and potluck dinner. A donation drive of school supplies for Lena Dunn Elementary school will also be held. For more information, call 254-3502.
Pulled pork dinner in Sandborn
Sandborn Park Board will have a pulled pork barbecue dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sandborn Community Building. All donations will be used to purchase shoes and school supplies for area children.
Wahl scholarship for healthcare
The Bloomington-based Local Council of Women will again this year award a Cecelia Wahl scholarship of $1,000, as well as three scholarships of at least $800 each, to students pursuing a career in health care. Applicants must live in one of the counties served by IU Health Bloomington Hospital (Brown, Daviess, Greene, Jackson, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Morgan, Orange, Owen and Washington) and must already have been accepted into an accredited program of study in a medical field. Applicants should submit documentation of their acceptance into their chosen program, as well as a copy of their grades (this need not be an official copy, because of the cost of obtaining that document).
These items must be accompanied by a statement of the applicant’s goals for the future.Completed applications must be mailed by Aug. 30 to LCW Scholarships, P.O. Box 6171, Bloomington, IN 47407.The LCW Scholarship Committee will select and notify scholarship winners in September. Awards will be presented at the LCW annual meeting in December.
