Martha Lundy

---- — DOVER HILL — Martha J. Lundy, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

Born Jan. 28, 1919, in Martin County, she was the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Clements) Westhafer.

She graduated from Robinson School in 1932 in Martin County and was a member of the Dover Hill Christian Union Church. She worked along with her husband farming and was a cheerful homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, making numerous quilts, tending to her flower beds, crafting, and babysitting her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by two sons, Leland D. and Janette Lundy of Brazil, and Steve and Lori Lundy of Loogootee; a daughter, Sue Baker of Shoals; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She married Woodrow Lundy on Nov. 16, 1935, in Martin County, and they were blessed with 70 years together before he passed away on June 18, 2006. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Dwight Wilson Lundy and Virgil Lundy; one daughter, Joyce Ragens; four brothers, Ralph, Wilber, Dewey and Marion “Francis” Westhafer; and one sister, Mary Sparks.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals, with Rev. Larry Downs officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Mount Union Cemetery.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
