Tax statements mailed

The Daviess County Treasurer has announced that all tax statements for 2012 pay 2013 were mailed on March 28. The first installment will be due on May

There will be one "A" and one "B" for each parcel. On the left hand side of each one is a small stub which will be stamped and given to the taxpayer as a receipt. Partial payments can be made at any time. Those whose taxes are paid through banks and mortgage companies received a copy of their statement. Anyone who has not received their statements should call the treasurer's office at 254-8677 as soon as possible. The office is open from

8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Voice mail is available for after hours calls.

Those paying by mail should enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope if they wish to receive a receipt.

The office will be open Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Because some mail deposited late on May 10 might not be postmarked until the next day, taxpayers are urged to mail early.
