CITY ACCIDENTS

Jan. 20

11:30 p.m. – Marcos Gabriel Latalladi, 28, 109 E. Oak St., Apt. 4, left the roadway at W. Oak and S.W. First streets, striking a utility pole head-on with his 1994 Honda Civic.

Latalladi was found to be intoxicated, with a portable breath test reading .17 percent. He was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated/refusal, OVWI/endangering a person and operating a vehicle while never being licensed.

Neither the driver nor his passenger, Martin Garcia Santos, 22, 109 E. Oak St., Apt. 4, were wearing their restraints and received minor injuries to the head and face from striking the windshield. Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.

Jan. 18

4:23 p.m. – William W. Welborn, 48, 2106 E. Nat’l Hwy., was driving a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country registered to Cathy L. Welborn northbound on SR 57S when looked down for a second. John E. Burkhart, 73, Elnora, was also northbound in front of Welborn in his 2010 Jeep Liberty and had slowed to allow a vehicle in front of him to turn onto Meridian Street. Welborn struck the rear of the Burkhart vehicle.

Burkhart complained of pain to his head. Damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.

COUNTY REPORT

Wednesday

1:30 a.m. – A caller advised hitting a tree on U.S. 50 W. An officer advised the car was 1 mile west of the bridge in Knox County, but he would work the accident. The tree was in Daviess County and the deputy removed it as well.

Tuesday

11:24 p.m. – Dispatch received a call about a tree down at CR 200N, east of CR 75. The county highway department was notified and the tree was removed.

1:25 p.m. – A trash lab was reported on the east side of N.W. 21st Street just north of the railroad tracks. It was picked up for disposal.

12:58 p.m. – A large chunk of concrete was reported in the westbound lane of U.S. 50 under the I-69 overpass. It was removed from the roadway.
