Doris 'Bonnie' Davis

LOOGOOTEE — Doris “Bonnie” Davis, 75, went home to be with the Lord at 10:45 a.m. Thursday at North Capital Nursing and Rehab Center in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 21, 1938, in Loogootee, she was the daughter of James and Goldie (White) Martin. A 1958 graduate of Loogootee High School, she was a member of Loogootee United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and had previously worked in the kitchen at the Martin County Nursing Home. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Kenny and wife Lia Davis of Loogootee; one daughter, Julie Blair of Jasper; one brother, Jim Martin of Loogootee; two granddaughters, Amanda Davis of Jasper and Lacey Padgett of Evansville; and one great-grandson, Leland Parker of Jasper.

Her husband, Charles E. Davis, whom she married Sept. 15, 1963, is deceased. Also preceding her in death are her parents; one daughter, Tammy Davis; and one grandson, Brandon Davis.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Loogootee United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Brocksmith-Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family through the funeral home.
