WASHINGTON — The following are area closings for the Veteran’s Day holiday Monday:

•PACE Community Action Agency will be closed.

•City of Washington offices will be closed. There will be no trash pick up, and the city bus will not run. Residents with trash pick up on Monday are asked to have their trash ready for pick up by 7 a.m. Tuesday. The recycling center will also be closed Monday.

•Daviess County Family Y.M.C.A. will be open.

•The Daviess County Courthouse and Highway Department will be closed.

•Senior and Family Services will be open.

•Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Office and Visitor’s Bureau will be closed.

•Economic Development Corp. will be closed.

•Washington Carnegie Public Library will be closed.

•U.S. Postal Service will be closed.

•The license branch will be closed.

•Retired Senior Volunteer Program offices will be open.

•Indiana Workforce Development Center will be open.

•Daviess County Landfill will be closed.

•The Washington Times Herald office will be open.

•Ride Solution will be open.

All lanes of U.S. 50 to open Monday

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is announcing that on Monday traffic patterns will again change on U.S. Route 50 on Washington’s east side.

Sometime after morning rush hour, all four lanes (two east bound and two westbound) of U.S. 50 will now be available for motorists traveling through the area.

The work in this area has been a part of the I-69 Section 2 corridor construction from the White River to just north of U.S. 50. The contract was awarded to Walsh Construction, Inc. of LaPorte, in February of 2011.

I-69 from I-64 in Gibson County to U.S. 231 in Greene County is scheduled to be open to the afternoon hours on Nov. 19.

ND X-Mas Craft Show is Saturday

The North Daviess Christmas Craft Show is on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are over 175 booth spaces rented. Parking is free, babysitting will be available, and lunch will also be available in the cafeteria and in the home economics department.

Veale chili supper is Saturday

The Veale Elementary chili supper will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Chili, hot dog, dessert and drink, $5. Take out available.

Veteran’s Day service on Sunday

There will be a Veterans’ Day service at 4 p.m. Sunday at Beulah AME Church, 805 W. Walnut St., with special guest speaker Rev. Therrie Williams Jr, a Vietnam veteran and recipient of a Purple Heart. He is pastor of Bethel AME in Hammond.

Information will be available regarding a new support group for veterans to be held at the Dunbar School Community Building-Internet Cafe. Refreshments will be served.

Eagles Auxiliary to meet Sunday

The Eagles Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 1 p.m. Sunday, with an initiation.
