Saturday's Police Report

6:38 a.m. - Donald Altmeyer, 812 Maxwell Ave., reported that someone had entered a fenced portion of his property and had knocked over and stomped on an unplanted apple tree.


9:14 p.m. - Over 100 reports of a power outage on Brett Cable Road and the surrounding areas were reported. A transformer was sparking near 10th Street and Brett Cable Road and a tree was down over lines near 12th Street and Bedford Road.

6:35 p.m. - Debbe Query, 1300 N.E. Third St., reported that a male juvenile had struck her garage doors with a bicycle and left the scene. There was damage to the bottom of the doors. The juveniles parents were contacted.

4:47 p.m. - Officers received a complaint that someone was stuck in the elevator at the Daviess County Museum. The situation was taken care of.

3:50 p.m. - A caller reported four or five male juveniles were knocking on doors and ringing door bells in the 100 block of west Hefron Street. The juveniles were warned to stop doing so.



2:41 a.m. - A caller on Griffith Street in Elnora reported that someone had tried to break into her residence.

12:53 a.m. - A caller at the Maysville Public Access Site reported he was canoeing and had lost a person in the river. The person was found and was okay.


8:37 p.m. - A caller on Private Road in Loogootee reported neighbors are shooting a rifle.

6:54 p.m. - An altercation between two male subjects with mopeds and a red vehicle was reported on SR 57 near the river bridge. The red vehicle had ran the drivers of the mopeds off the road. The driver of the vehicle got out with a stick of some type and had words with the subjects on the mopeds. The drivers of the mopeds were told to not be out riding until they had obtained plates and proper licenses for the 50CC mopeds.

6:01 p.m. - A caller on Old Vincennes Road reported a four-wheeler driving erratically.

3:03 p.m. - A caller near Maysville reported a white work truck with an intercom had passed through the area telling people to stay in their homes. The truck was not located.

12:49 p.m. - A caller at 481S 550E reported a gas leak. Vectren was contacted and the gas line was shut off. The line was determined to be an LP line and the homeowner was going to call a repairman to come fix the problem.

10:19 a.m. - A complainant on station reported a phone scam. A victims packet was given tot he complainant.

10:16 a.m. - A caller on CR 600S reported a reckless driver had ran him off the road. The vehicle was described as a white sedan heading toward the Glendale area.
