---- — A Washington man was arrested Tuesday for a multiple warrants in two counties.
Eric Wayne Fahey, 28, was taken into custody by state police following a shoplifting tip at the Washington Walmart Supercenter, 100 W. Bypass 50 Plaza.
According to information provided by the state police, a trooper was called to the store to investigate shoplifting complaints by Fahey and another woman, Susan K. Tackett, 33, Wheatland.
A warrant check on Fahey returned multiple warrants from Daviess and Lawrence counties, including four charges related to a domestic incident in March. According to court records, Fahey is accused of beating a woman at the Gasthof Inn, Montgomery, and then taking the woman's car. He was later charged with auto theft, criminal confinement, criminal mischief and battery resulting in bodily injury.
The Lawrence County warrant is for theft and receiving stolen property. He was also preliminarily charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe. Further charges may be filed as a case report is being completed.
Bond was set at $20,000 at the Daviess County Security Center.
