10:51 p.m. - Martin County dispatch requested assistance on a suspect that ran from officers in Loogootee. A few minutes later, the request was cancelled.



1:51 p.m. - An employee of North Elementary, 600 N.E. Sixth St., reporting finding an item that could be drug related. The item turned out to be not related to drug use and was disposed.

1:53 p.m. - An employee of German American Bank said a burrito-shaped item wrapped in a napkin was at its ATM on SR 57 and E. Walnut Street and considered suspicious. Officers found the item was a burrito and was disposed of.

12:08 p.m. - A female caller said while driving past the corner of S.W. 10th and W. Oak streets, she saw a male hitting a female. Officers arrested a male, Derek Austin Eller, 23, 10 N.E. Fourth St., for battery.


3:50 p.m. - Justin Smith said a truck belonging to a friend backfired at the SR 57/U.S. 50 Bypass intersection and started a small field fire. Daviess County and Washington Township Volunteer firefighters were alerted.


Mark Aaron Davidson, 50, Washington, was arrested by city police Wednesday for unlawful possession of a syringe and a failure to appear warrant for driving while suspended. He was being held at the Daviess County Security Center without bond.

Jonathan Martin Ray, 18, Odon, was arrested by Odon police Wednesday for theft. He was being held on $2,500 bond.

Gregory Lee Padgett, 23, Washington, was arrested by Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday on a warrant for theft and attempted theft. He was released on $2,500 bond.
