He said he is astonished at the number of older people taking part in events such as this one and that are trying to help themselves by putting in time to enrich their lives.
“Since I started jogging, I’m not as tired as I used to be and mentally I feel a lot more inspired to do things,” said Phillips in an interview with Generations.
This year for those that would like to support Generations but cannot participate in the run, there will also be a phantom run.
Individual phantom runner donations are $30. Phantom runners making their donations before Aug. 9 will receive a goodie bag and T-shirt. Phantom Family Runner donation packages are also available for $50 or more before Aug. 9. The family package will also include goodie bags and T-shirts with the family’s name on the back of the running shirt. For every $50 donation, the family will get a goodie bag and personalized T-shirt.
Generations serves over 3,300 residents in Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Knox, Martin and Pike counties.
Those wishing to register for the 5K or phantom run can do so by going to www.trailblazer5k.com, or by contacting Alma Kramer at 812-888-4527.
