If she wins on the state level, $500 will be donated to the non-profit charity of her choice. The national winner will have $5,000 donated to a non-profit charity.
DeVries was the 2010 Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Volunteer of the Year. She has volunteered with Daviess County Partnerships-CONNECTIONS for 35 hours a month for the last eight years and Feed My Sheep for 20 hours a month for the last eight years.
“JoAnne is a 17 year member of RSVP and over the years has worked in most of the volunteer positions that we have,” said Kim Herbertz, Executive Director of RSVP. “She is always ready to serve and is a great leader. We are so happy that she has been nominated for the Salute to Senior Service award.”
