8:44 p.m. - Several complaints were received around town from residents who were without water. It was determined that there was a major water leak on SR57.


5:04 p.m. - An employee of Verizon, SR 57 S. said someone had come into the store with a cell phone that had been found on Meridian Street. The phone was registered to Jessica Rainey.

3:44 p.m. - Floyd Hedrick, 1108 Axtell Avenue, reported that someone from a private number had called him about getting a new Medicare card. The caller also inquired about Hedrick’s bank information. Hedrick had not given out any personal information.



2:47 a.m. - A caller on U.S. 50 bypass near Chuckles reported he had hit a deer.


10:01 p.m. - A caller near CR 7889 E  reported there was a possible prowler in the area.

9:52 p.m. - An employee of Chuckles reported a man trying to get money from customers and the same man had come in with a credit card trying to get cash back.

8:07 p.m. - A caller reported an accident near Seven Curves on SR 257. One vehicle had turned over and a man was trapped in the vehicle a wrecker was called for the vehicle.

1:39 p.m. - A caller just north of Hudsonville reported that her granddaughter had just called her and said there was a naked man walking from the Coonhunter’s Club in Hudsonville.

11:27 a.m. - A caller on South Odon Street in Elnora reported that Wayne Ellis, who works for the town of Elnora had broken her window with a rock while mowing grass. The caller would like the town to pay for the damages. The town will turn the incident over to their insurance representative.

10:01 a.m. - A caller owning 20 acres of ground between CR 400 S and CR 900E reported that someone had damaged a pole barn he is building on the property. Someone had broken out the glass door and some of the glass in the windows.  A hammer and level were also stolen from the property. The property owner requested extra patrol.


Johnathan S. Holt, 36, Loogootee, was arrested by Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday on a writ of attachment. He was being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $16,700 bond.

Isaac D. Swartzentruber, 21, Odon, was arrested by Odon police Thursday on operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was being held on $2,000 bond.
