---- — The November meeting of the Arts and Flowers Garden Club was held recently at the Washington Carnegie Library. President Linda Myers called the meeting to order and led the group in the pledge of allegiance.
She thanked the hostesses Tunia McClure, Barb Fyffe, Sue Garrett and Marguerite Tuggle. Secretary Bonnie Miles called the roll and read the minutes.
Treasurer Janet Goodwin gave the report.
Fyffe reminded the Christmas tree project committee to meet Nov. 20 to decorate the two trees at the Jay Myers Plaza. Becky Kremp and Bonnie Jones will be in charge of decorating the trees at Meredith Plaza.
The group decided to give the street department workers who helped with the tree project a cake as a thank you. Vicki Bubalo announced the downtown Christmas parade will be Dec. 7 at 3 p.m.
Diana Gill reported that she had gone to the recent downtown Christmas stroll and it was very impressive and enjoyable.
Goodwin reported on the district meeting that was held in Petersburg.
Members then decorated centerpieces for an assisted living home.
Judi Hill was in charge of the project.
Other members attending were Flo Cavanaugh, Linda Cornelius, Helen Dashnaw, Linda Free, Susan Fry, Sue Harper, Shirley Jones, Fran Neal, Shelia O’Maley, Dorothy Pegler, Jennie Richardson, Pat Thompson, Nyla Wachter, Jan Wake and Mary Gotwald.
The next meeting will be Dec. 12 at the home of Vicki Bubalo.
