WASHINGTON — Stouse to speak at Ark of Safety

Timothy Stouse will continue an in-depth teaching at 7 p.m. Saturday on the ‘Redemptive Gifts’ and how to identify our individual giftings, etc. Anointed worship will be led by Trenda Stouse. Ark of Safety is located at 97 N. Monty Rd. Vincennes; phone 726-4520.

No Compassionate Friends this month

The Compassionate Friends of the Washington area will not hold their regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Sunday due to Mother’s Day.

The meeting is usually held at the Daviess Community Hospital, 1314 E. Walnut St., Washington, in Classroom 3, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Contests at Rail Fest this year

The Rail Fest is debuting a new feature this year with the first annual art show. Prize will be awarded in three categories: photography, general art and sidewalk chalk, and for adult and under 18 age groups.

Also this year the popular Hobo Lookalike contest will be back. Prizes will be awarded.

Applications for all events can be picked up at the Daviess County Museum or at www.daviesscountyhistory.net.

City does not pick up bagged grass

The Washington Street Department does not pick up bagged grass, bagged leaves or bagged yard waste. They will take call-in orders for limbs only.

Bagged grass, leaves and yard waste may be brought to the Street Department/Recycling Center at 2200 Memorial Ave. Call the Street Department at 254-4564 with any questions.

Shot clinic next week

The Daviess County Health Department will sponsor immunization clinics for children under the age of 19 years from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, at Eastside Park Community Building; and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. May 28 at Odon Community Building. An immunization record is required.



There is an $8 administration fee for each injection. Children under 18 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult.

You may also call 254-8666 to schedule your child for an appointment for immunizations.
