Washington man arrested on molestation charge

WASHINGTON — A Washington man was arrested Friday for one count of child molesting. Jacob Tyler Taylor, 19, 603 E. Main St., Apt. 3, was arrested by city police for a count of Class B felony child molesting.

According to court records, Taylor is alleged to had intercourse with a then

12-year-old girl on August, 2012.

Court records said the girl had interviewed with investigators on April 25, stating she and Taylor had intercourse last year. City detectives interviewed Taylor on May 3.

During the interview, Taylor said he did have intercourse with the girl. In the probable cause affidavit, Taylor said the girl lied about her age to him and found her real age after a family member confronted him.

Taylor is being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $25,000 bond. An initial hearing was held Monday in Daviess Superior Court where a preliminary trial date was scheduled for Sept. 24.

The accused was assigned Kelly McBride for counsel.
