WASHINGTON — SAFS activites for this week

Gentry scholarship applications due

Applications for the Donna Gentry Memorial Scholarship are due by Monday, March 4. Applicants are to research, write, and present an original pro-life essay developed from the theme: “What is happening to America because of abortion.”

The essay must be at least 500 words in length and not more than 550. Applications are available from local high school guidance counselors or from the Daviess County Right to Life office. Sectional parking restrictions

For the sectional this year, the Washington Police Department intends to maintain proper parking order for the public’s safety.

Some of the main violations are as follows:

*Parking on painted yellow lines either near fire hydrants or intersections.

*Parking in violation of posted warning signs.

*Parking across or on sidewalks.

*Parking between street barricades obviously designating no parking zones.

*Parking in alleys.

*Blocking driveways or entrances to parking lots.

*Parking in posted fire lanes.

Additional parking is available at the North Elementary School parking lot, north on Sixth Street.)

The school administration has also authorized the police department to strictly enforce all parking regulations pertaining to the school property.

Announcement of violators will not be made during the games. After the games, if you cannot locate your vehicle, call the Washington Police Department at 254-4410 describing your vehicle or license plate number and the operator on duty will advise you which towing service has your vehicle.
