---- — Hatchets breeze past Lincoln

VINCENNES — The Washington boys tennis team (17-2) defeated Vincennes Lincoln 5-0 Thursday afternoon. Lucas Miller, Jacob Luttrell and Michael Ramsey all won their singles matches in straight sets. Tyler Stoll and Corey Thompson won in straight sets without allowing a point and Jonathan Harner-Jake Bedwell won 6-4, 6-1.

Zeller games on local radio

Dave Crooks, owner and President of Washington’s two local radio stations announced Thursday that his stations will carry the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Bobcats games during the upcoming 2013-14 season. The Charlotte Bobcats featuring Cody Zeller will be broadcast on Memories 107.9 WAMW-FM. The Cleveland Cavaliers games featuring Tyler Zeller will be broadcast on The General 95.9 WAMW-FM.

“The Zeller family has put Washington, Ind. on the national basketball map. I want to give local fans the opportunity to follow the progress of both Cody and Tyler in the NBA,” Crooks said in a press release.

Hatchets fall to BNL

BEDFORD — The Washington volleyball team lost to Bedford North Lawrence in three straight sets (17-25, 13-25, 6-25) Thursday evening. Megan Arnold had 8 kills and 3 blocks. Lindsay Carrico had 10 digs. Jordan Carr added 11 assists.

Cougars defeat Linton

ELNORA — The North Daviess boys tennis team beat Linton 5-0 Thursday afternoon. Braden Lawyer, Trevor Wikle and Ethan Hawk all won their singles matches in straight sets. At No. 1 doubles, Trent Bowman-Brian Lawyer won in straight sets and Tommy Newby-Tanner Gray did the same at No. 2 doubles.

Lions beat North Knox

BICKNELL — The Loogootee volleyball team (16-1) defeated North Knox in four games (25-13, 18-25, 25-16, 25-7) Thursday night. Michala Beasley had 25 kills and 12 service points, while Demi Richardson had 47 assists and 9 service points. Kailye Robbins had 16 digs and Waylee Wagoner had 18 service points and 15 digs.

Lions take down Vikings

LOOGOOTEE — The Loogootee boys tennis team defeated Barr-Reeve 3-2 Thursday afternoon. Loogootee’s Gabe Nolley defeated John Cangelosi 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Barr-Reeve’s Tyler Bennett beat Tylan Norris 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Wyatt Wade beat Jeff Parsons to give the Lions a victory. Loogootee’s Hayden Bell and Jordan Berry defeated Clay Cummings and Trevor Steiner at No. 1 doubles. Zach Graber and Colten Lottes defeated Landon Bell and Caleb Dant 6-2, 6-2 for a Viking victory.

Cardinals defeat Rivet

VINCENNES — The Washington Catholic boys soccer team (8-5-1) defeated Vincennes Rivet 4-3 Thursday night. Junior Blaine Fuhs scored three goals for the Cardinals. Luke Fields scored the other goal for the Cardinals. Zack Taylor had three assists and Brody Wilson added one. Goalie Jon Mitchell had nine saves, including his final one with two seconds remaining.
