Friday

12:50 p.m. - Jeff Johnson reported a hit-and-run accident while at Walmart, 100 Bypass 50 Plaza. A report was made.

10:46 a.m. - A male caller reported an accident on S. Meridian Street where a red van hit a silver car and then kept on driving. Officers, nor Southwest Medical personnel could find any accident in the area.

9:12 p.m. - A male caller said a suspicious male was around Center Street near Family Video with a mask and dark clothes. Officers contacted an employee of the store and said no one was found matching that description.

8:44 p.m. - A city Parks Department employee said a couple patrons were being disrespectful and one was riding a motorcycle on a sidewalk. An officer talked with an individual and was told not use the sidewalk with a motorcycle.

COUNTY REPORT

Thursday

9:44 p.m. - A caller reported a dumpster fire behind J&L Homecenter in Montgomery. Montgomery and Cannelburg fire departments were called and had the fire extinguished by 10:07 p.m.

5:09 p.m. - A caller said a possibly intoxicated male was walking north on SR 57. The person was given a ride home.

4:30 a.m. - An employee of Chuckle’s, Odon, reported a drive-off worth $76 in a white van. The caller said the customer tried to use a credit card but it did not work.

1:14 a.m. - A male caller at 2829 Cosby Road reported a break-in. Medication was reported missing.

COUNTY ACCIDENT

Monday

4:31 a.m. - Wayne L. Jeffers, 52, Coal City, was driving at 2004 Ford F-250 south on SR 57 near CR 200E. Jeffers told officers he fell asleep, causing the truck to miss a curve, strike a guard rail and then overturn several times before ending in a creek bed. Jeffers was thrown from the vehicle, and had a broken leg and other injuries. He was taken to Daviess Community Hospital and later airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. Damage from the accident was between $2,500 and $5,000.

ARRESTS

Brian Howard, 45, Washington, was arrested by city police Thursday on a writ of attachment. He was being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $8,100 bond.

Brett Carpenter, 32, Washington, was arrested by Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday for dealing methamphetamine and possession/sale of precursors. He was being held on $500,000 bond.

Guy Hazel, 35, Odon, was arrested by Daviess County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday on a warrant for unlawful employment near children by a sexual predator. He was being held on $2,500 bond.
