---- — Cougars down Wood Memorial

OAKLAND CITY - The North Daviess Cougars posted a 62-54 win over Wood Memorial on Friday. The Cougars moved to 2-1 with the win.

The Cougars found themselves down at both the end of the first half and end of the half 31-29. However, the Cougars out scored Wood 14-7 and 19-16 to pick up the win.

ND was led by Alex Wittmer with 23 and 12 each from Dusten Cook and Brady Helms. Zac Moore added nine, with Austin Buehler getting five and one from Waylon Lengacher.

Nick Casey led Wood with 18, while three others had 11 each.

Wittmer added seven assists, while Helms had eight boards. Moore and Kelby Byrer split 10 boards.

South Knox beat WC

MONRORE CITY - The South Knox Spartans beat Washington Catholic recently, 74-16.

AJ Sellers led WC with 10 points, while Brandon Strange and Ethan Wichman split six points.

The Spartans keep WC in single digit scoring in each of the four quarters. WC was hurt by 34 turnovers and were outrebounded 40-21.

BR takes two from Loogootee

MONTGOMERY - The Barr-Reeve fifth and sixth grade won two close games over Loogootee. In the fifth grade game, B-R won 27-25, with Hagen Knepp getting 13, Devin Graber with 6, four from Adam Wagler and two each from Tyson Knepp and Tanner Graber.

B-R also took the sixth grade game 35-31. B-R was led by Kegan O’Neil with 17, Kaden Boyd with six, Luke Lengacher with four, three from Caleb Graber, two each from Mitch Kavanaugh and Jacob Wagler. Conner Heller added one.
