BICKNELL — The Washington Catholic boys basketball team lost to North Knox Friday night despite an impressive fourth quarter.
The Cardinals (3-10) lost to North Knox 76-60 for their third straight loss.
Washington Catholic fell behind 22-14 after one quarter and the Warriors won the second quarter 17-3 to take a 39-17 lead at halftime. The Cardinals were 7-of-18 (39 percent) in the first half, missed all six 3-pointers and made 3-of-4 shots from the free throw line.
In the second half, North Knox outscored the Cardinals 29-15, but Washington Catholic won the fourth quarter 28-8 to give North Knox the 16-point win. The Cardinals shot 16-of-21 from the field in the second half, 8-of-11 on 3-pointers and 3-of-5 free throws, but it wasn’t enough.
AJ Sellers led all scorers with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. Ethan Wichman had 12 points and four rebounds, Brandon Strange added nine points and four assists, Armando Ramirez added five points and two rebounds, James Brown had four points and Eric Zipperle had two points.
