PRINCETON — Princeton's Jackie Young scored 26 points and Hannah Brewer 20 as the Tigers defeated Washington, 71-49, in a Saturday Big 8 Conference girls basketball game.

Princeton (12-5, 3-2 Big Eight) led Washington (8-5, 1-4) 30-24 at the half before moving to a 50-39 third-quarter lead. Princeton then outscored Washington, 21-10, in the fourth.

"The kids really battled and hung with a very good Princeton team for three quarters," Washington coach Gretchen Miles said. "The game is four quarters, and Princeton will capitalize on mistakes and turn them into points quickly." Washington's Ally Hunsinger turned in a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Lupe Perez scored nine points, Audra Stallman scored eight and had nine rebounds, Hannah Mason scored eight and Audra Lane six.

"The game got away quickly in the second half, and especially in the fourth quarter." Miles said. "Princeton had 18 offensive rebounds. We grabbed 20, but we did not turn them into points like Princeton. We have to control the aspects of the game that we can, and especially get wins against solid opponents." Princeton won the junior varsity game, 48-31. Izzy Wagoner had a game-high

15 points for Washington.
