---- — Hatchets win twice

Washington junior high tennis defeated North Daviess 5-0. John Rook won in singles 8-1, Caleb Arthur won 8-0, and Braden Kixmiller won 8-0. In doubles, Brycen Graber and Trey Reed won 8-2 and Owen Gray and Zach Gray won 8-0. Drake Harman and Kayden Graber won 6-1. In singles action, Nate Napier pulled out a 6-5 win and Jacob Rice win 6-2. The Hatchets improved to 9-0 on the season.

Washington junior high tennis improved to 10-0 defeating Barr Reeve 4-1. John Rook of Washington defeated Gage Wilson 8-4. Caleb Arthur of Washington defeated James Sisco 8-5. Zach Gray of Washington defeated Jacob Sisco 8-1. Nick Parsons and Cameron Graber of Barr Reeve defeated Trey Reed and Brycen Graber 3-8. Owen Gray and Braden Kixmiller of Washington defeated Tristan Graber and Ethan Wagler 8-4. Isaac Wagler and Keeshawn Wittmer of Barr Reeve defeated Drake Harman and Kayden Graber 0-6.

Graber places first

EVANSVILLE — The Barr-Reeve junior high girls cross country team finished first at The Mounds Tuesday afternoon in both the A race and the B race. Natalie Graber finished first with a time of 10:54. Andrea Graber finished 10th, Katie Wagler 12th, Rachael Wilson 14th, Hannah Fuhs 15th, Mary Lang 28th and Alexis Bauer 42nd. In the 2K B race, Makenna Pruett finished first with a time of 8:54 and Elle Knepp finished second just two seconds behind Pruett. Mariah Perkins finished sixth, Kendall Thompkins 11th, Madison Gist 18th, Brooke Kavanaugh 24th, Alyssa Lasher 39th and Jenna Harrison 41st.

Vikings beat Shoals

SHOALS — The Barr-Reeve volleyball team defeated Shoals in three straight games (25-7, 25-15, 25-8) Tuesday evening. Tiara Kenney led the Vikings with nine kills. Jenna Knepp had four points and one ace. Courtney Pruett had 16 points.

Lions fall to Lincoln

LOOGOOTEE — The Loogootee boys tennis team lost to Vincennes Lincoln 3-2 Tuesday afternoon. Gabe Nolley defeated Mitchell Cooper 6-0, 6-3 in straight sets at No. 1 singles. Tylan Norris lost to Eli Williams 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Wyatt Wade lost to Colten Mercer Szady 6-1, 6-3. Loogootee’s Hayden Bell and Jordan Berry won in straight sets in three sets at No. 1 doubles. Landon Bell and Caleb Dant lost at No. 2 doubles in two sets.

VINCENNES — The Loogootee volleyball team (15-1) defeated Vincennes Rivet in three straight games (25-21, 25-17, 25-11). Michala Beasley had 17 kills, Demi Richardson had 36 assists and 12 service points. Waylee Wagoner had nine digs.
