For nearly the entire third quarter the two teams traded punts until Lengacher put slammed the door shut on the Trojans. Lengacher ran for an emphatic 95-yard touchdown to push the lead to 39-8 at the end of the third quarter.
“Colton means a lot to us – of course he’s a great athlete,” Parisien said. “With him with the ball we struggle, but Colton (Lengacher) would be the first to tell you that without that offensive line, he would be next to nothing, because if nobody blocks he doesn’t get the yards he needs. There are times when he does get the hard yards. He’s a great leader for the program.”
Jacob Reed added a 29-yard touchdown run, giving North Daviess a 45-8 victory. North Daviess will host North Knox (4-3) Friday as the Cougars try to get back in a rhythm with only two home games remaining in the regular season.
“North Knox is very good team – that will a big game for us at home and we need all the fan support that we can get next week.”
