WASHINGTON — The Washington Freedom pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat Hoosier Express, 7-6, in American Legion baseball at the Washington Sports Complex Sunday.
Washington led 6-2 after three innings before the Express tied the game with a single run in the fourth, two in the sixth and one in the eighth.
Washington then got the game-winner in the ninth.
The Express outhit Washington, 11-5. Both teams were charged with one error.
Washington plays host to Boonville at 7 p.m. today.
