Memorable day for Bledsoe
MONTGOMERY — Charlie Bledsoe, of Washington, shot his age (83) Saturday at Country Oaks. The feat was witnessed by Cy Rybicki, of Plainfield, and Monty Critchlow.

Ron Mattingly and Joe Hauser took first place in the A-Flight 9-Hole Scramble, while Skip Pace and Kade Cornelius took first in the Alternate. Ron Seal and John Clinard finished first in the B-Flight, and Darrell Eaton and Chubs Wagler finished first in the Alternate. In the C-Flight and the Alternate, Nick Nolley and Gary Johnson finished in first place.
Freedom defeat Princeton
PRINCETON — The Washington Freedom defeated Princeton Post 25 4-3 Monday night behind recent Shoals grad Skyler Veilleux, threw a 139-pitch complete game for the victory. Veilleux struck out 12, while scattering nine hits, three walks and one hit batter. Washington scored twice in the fourth and once in the fifth inning. Walls had an RBI triple and scored a run on Levi Archer’s single. Colten White scored a run on a wild pitch to pace the Freedom’s offense after Princeton scored two in the first and one in the third to take a 3-1 lead.
Washington hosts Jasper Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the Sports Complex in its second home game of the season.
