Hatchets place seventh at Jasper

JASPER — The Washington Junior High girls track ran at Jasper Monday evening. The seventh grade team lost, 65-33, and the eighth grade lost, 70.5-29.5.

For the seventh grade, Sonja Mattingly placed first in the long jump and third in the 200 meters, Lauren Andis was second in the long jump (13-1), Hannah Shrieves placed first in the shot put and Marissa Healy finished first in the 100, 200 and 400 meters.

For the eighth grade, Kaitlyn Davis placed first in the long jump, tied for third in the high jump and received second in the 100, in :13.25.

Makenzie Healy placed first in high jump, first in the 100 meters (:13.17), and first in the 200 meters (:27.66). Neida Revolorio placed first in the shot put with a throw of 30-7.

Vikings remain undefeated

The Barr-Reeve Jr. High girls tennis team improved its record to 5-0 with a

4-1 victory over Loogooteee Monday. The Vikings only loss was at No. 1 singles where Bailey Tanksley lost 2-8. Leah Bullock won at No. 2 singles 8-7. Brianna Yoder breezed through her No. 3 singles match by winning 8-1.

Emma Steiner-Krislyn Knepp won No. 1 doubles 8-6, and Amy Wittmer-Natalie Schulthies won at No. 2 doubles 8-4.

In reserve matches, Jayna Wagler-Janae Graber won 6-4, Marissa Helms-Bailey Tanksley won 6-0, Annie Graber-Bailey Graber won 6-0. Paige Neukam-Janae Knepp won 6-5 and Nicole McMullen-Abbie Benett won 6-0.
