White, Washington beat Lawrenceville

WASHINGTON — Lauren White drove in three runs with three singles as Washington defeated Lawrenceville, Ill., 5-3, in a girls softball game at the Sports Complex Monday.

Washington was trailing the Indians, 3-2, before scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.The Hatchets (12-4) had taken an early 1-0 lead in the second before Lawrenceville tied the game at one in the top of the third.

The Hatchets again took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the inning before Lawrenceville scored twice in the top of the fifth.

Allexis Lemon doubled and drove home a run for Washington. Charity Graber collected an RBI with a single, and Ashlee Hayes and Kirsten Burks each added hits.

Lemon went the distance for Washington. Lemon did not allow an earned run while fanning five and fanning nine.
