Washington Jr. High open gym dates/times

All Jr. High open gyms are from 6-7:30pm at Jr. High Gym June 5, 10, 19 and 26. July 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Jr. High volleyball try outs are July 29, 30, and 31 from 6-7:30pm in the Jr. High Gym. A physical must be on file in the High School Athletic Department for you to be able to try out. All three days of try outs are mandatory. No make up try outs will be allowed. Please wear gym shorts, t-shirt, tennis shoes and knee pads to try outs. Remember to bring a water bottle.

Incoming 2nd-6th grade volleyball open gyms every day listed above, but June 5th and 10. Second-to-sixth grade open gyms are 5-6 p.m. at the Jr. High Gym. Summer volleyball camp this year is June 23-27 at the High School Gym. 3rd and 4th grade sessions are 8-9:30 a.m. 5th and 6th grade are from 9:45-11:15 a.m., and 7th, 8th, and 9th grade is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost is $25 per athlete. Call the High School Athletic Department for questions.

Barr-Reeve blanks Loogootee, 6-0

LOOGOOTEE — The Vikings (9-9) jumped on the Lions with three runs in the top of the first inning as the Vikings sent eight batters to the plate. The Vikings had three hits in the inning and were aided with two errors by the Lions. The Vikings added a run in the second inning and two more in the top of the third inning for the final score of six runs on nine hits. The Lions were held scoreless on six hits while leaving eight on base and committing three errors.

Barr-Reeve splits 2 games

The Barr-Reeve baseball team defeated White River Valley 6-3 and lost to Vincennes Lincoln 6-5 in eight innings.

Barr-Reeve jumped out to a 6-0 lead and were able to hang on for the three-run victory. Adam Graber allowed two runs in four innings, before being relieved by Logan James, who surrendered one run in three innings. Addison Wagler led the Vikings with two RBIs, Lucas Graber and Trevor Yoder also added an RBI.
