Cardinals soccer keeps rolling

The Washington Catholic boys soccer team defeated Pike Central 7-1 and the girls team defeated Pike Central 5-1 Tuesday evening at Rees Field. The boys got a hat trick in each half from junior captain Blaine Fuhs to finish with six of the seven Cardinal goals — the other goal went to Zack Taylor. Goalie Jon Mitchell had 10 saves.

The girls got two goals a piece from seniors Elizabeth Perkins and Vibeki Salmelid. Macy Kane had a goal and an assist and Sydney Dunbar had 12 saves.

Lions defeat Linton

LINTON — The Loogootee volleyball team defeated Linton in three straight sets (25-13, 25-12, 25-11) Tuesday night. The Lions were led by Christina Ziegler with 15 kills, while Michala Beasley had 10 and Abby Ackerman added nine. Demi Richardson registered 33 assists. Kailye Robbins led Loogootee with nine diggs, Lauren Bowling and Michala Beasley had six apiece. Waylee Wagoner had 13 points to lead the Lions.

Cougars defeat WRV

The North Daviess boys tennis team defeated White River Valley 3-2 Tuesday afternoon. Braden Lawyer lost at No. 1 singles 1-6, 3-6. Trevor Wikle and Trent Bowman won at the other two singles positions. At No. 1 doubles, Tommy Newby-Brian Lawyer won in straight sets, but the tandem of Ethan Hawk-Tanner Gray lost in three sets at No. 2 doubles.

Lions lose to Southridge

LOOGOOTEE — The Loogootee boys tennis team lost to Southridge 3-2 Tuesday afternoon. Gabe Nolley earned a victory at No. 1 singles for the Lions in straight sets. Tylan Norris followed suit at No. 2 singles, but Jayce Wagoner couldn’t follow the trend and lost at No. 3 singles. Both the No. 1 doubles team of Jordan Berry-Wyatt Wade and the No. 2 doubles tandem of Landon Bell-Caleb Dant lost.
