---- — JASPER - The Washington Hatchet girls golf team fell to Jasper on Wednesday, 168-197.
The Wildcats were led by Annie Getzin who was medalist with a 36.
WHS was led by Natalya Meinhart’s 44; Haven Lunsford’s 47; a Cheyenne Jones 49 and a 57 from Alayna Purcell.
“Overall not a good night for the Lady Hatchets, but the highlight of the evening was a hole in one by Cheyenne Jones. She aced the 125 yard par three 14th hole with a gap wedge,” WHS coach Morris Petty.
“As far as we know this is the first ever hole in one in a match by Lady Hatchet golfer. She is a talented player and hopefully this will make her a more confident player as the season winds down. Natalya once again lead us with a round of 44. Haven had some very good holes but gave away a few too many shots. Alayna showed some improvement tonight. We need her to keep improving every day before the sectional arrives.”
