---- — WHS falls to Princeton

PRINCETON — The Washington volleyball team lost to Princeton Thursday evening in three straight sets (26-28, 16-25, 22-25). Lauren Terry led the Hatchets with 11 kills and two aces. Jordan Carr had 19 assists and 17 digs. Araina Fiddler, Emily Sullender and Megan Arnold had one block apiece. Fiddler and Sullender also had 11 digs apiece.

Hatchets stay undefeated

The Washington junior high tennis team (3-0) defeated Pike Central 5-0 Thursday afternoon. John Rook won 8-0, Caleb Arthur won 8-7 and Zach Gray surrendered one point on his way to an 8-1 win. In doubles, Trey Reed-Brysen Graber won 8-0 and the tandem of Owen Gray-Braden Kixmiller won 6-2. Nate Napier and Jacob Rice won 6-0, and Drake Harman and Kaden Graber won 6-1. Eli Wilson and Brysen Graber won 6-3.

Cardinals top Northeast Dubois

DUBOIS — The Washington Catholic boys soccer team defeated Northeast Dubois 7-2 Thursday evening to improve to move to 2-0 on the season. Josh Fiscus and Zach Taylor added two goals and one assist apiece. AJ Sellers, Blaine Fuhs and Brody Wilson had one goal each.

Loogootee defeats Pike Central

PETERSBURG — The Loogootee volleyball defeated Pike Central in three straight sets (25-12, 25-12, 25-12) Thursday evening. Abby Ackerman led Loogootee with 10 kills, while Michala Beasley and Christina Ziegler each had nine. Demi Richardson had 30 assists. Lauren Bowling led with 10 digs, and Abby Ackerman and Waylee Wagoner each had seven. Richardson led all Lions with 13 service points, while Wagoner had 12 and Beasley added nine.

Cougars beat Shakamak

ELNORA — The North Daviess volleyball team defeated Shakamak 3-0 Thursday night at the Cougar Den. Taylor Jeffers had 11 kills, six digs, one assist, one block, and two aces. Chandra Bruner added eight kills, six digs, three blocks, and three aces. Madison Reed with three kills four digs, 13 assists, and three aces. Morgan Wadsworth registered two kills, six digs, three blocks, and two aces. Alexis Reed with four kills, two assists, and one block. Jessica Miller had three kills, three digs, and two blocks. Nicole Woodruff with one kill and eight digs. Randi Pershing with six digs and one ace. Lenzi Brewer with two digs and 14 assists.

The Lakers claimed the junior varsity match 2-1 with scores of 25-24, 24-25, 14-15. The Cougars next play today at the Screen Printing Press Classic Tournament hosted by Vincennes Lincoln.

Vikings beat Forest Park

MONTGOMERY — The Barr-Reeve volleyball team defeated Forest Park in three straight sets (25-13, 25-10, 25-17) Thursday night at Kavanaugh Kourt. Senior Jenna Knepp led the Vikings with 29 assists, and Skylar Chestnut and Hania Sisco each had nine points. Courtney Pruett and Allison Hoover added three aces apiece.

Vikings defeat North Knox

MONTGOMERY — The seventh and eighth grade Barr-Reeve volleyball teams both defeated North Knox Thursday evening. The seventh grade (2-0) won 25-19, 25-21, and the top server of the game was Marissa Helms at 17. The eighth grade (2-0)won 25-16, 25-17. The top server of the game was Annie Graber with 11.
