---- — WHS soccer defeats North on road

EVANSVILLE - The Washington Hatchet soccer team defeated Evansville North 3-2 on Monday at North to move to 5-1-0 for the season.

The Hatchets scored the only goal of the first hald, when Nick White scored off an assist at 38:16.

The Huskies then tied the score seven minutes into the second half, but Alex Ruiz posted the next goal at 58:35 to give WHS a 2-1 margin. White would then hook up with Luke Raymond for his second goal at 65:15, to make it 3-1.

The Huskies tacked on a goal at 72:24, but keeper Brooks Brown was able to shut them down the rest of the win to help earn the win.

The JV also earned a win for the Hatchets, 3-0. Ryan Koerner and David Carreon combined for the first goal, while Hunter Thurston scored the next two, with Koerner assisting on the third.

The Hatchets now head to Bloomington for Hoosier Cup. They will face Bloomington North at 6:30 tonight and then face Scott County (Ky.) at 9 a.m. and Jennings County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Cardinals defeat Lighthouse Christian

BLOOMINGTON — The Washington Catholic boys soccer team (5-1) defeated Lighthouse Christian behind five goals from Blaine Fuhs and one goal from Josh Fiscus. AJ Sellers and Fuhs each had an assist.

Cardinals fall to Princeton

The Washington Catholic junior high girls soccer team (1-4) lost 3-1 to Princeton Wednesday night with the Cardinals lone goal coming from Chloe Bryant.
