BLOOMFIELD — The Washington baseball team continued its strong play with another dominant victory.
The Hatchets (12-7) defeated the Cardinals, 14-0, in five innings behind another strong pitching and hitting performance from senior Brayden Walls.
The game was over before it had even started as Washington scored three, five and four runs in the first three innings and held a 12-0 lead. The Hatchets added two more runs in the fifth inning for their fourth win in the last five games.
Walls pitched a five-inning shutout, while allowing one hit and three walks to go along with 14 strikeouts. Walls¹ dominant performance improved his season record to 7-0 with a 0.74 ERA. The Washington senior was 2-for-3 at the plate with two home runs and four RBIs.
Kyle Pfender had one home run and three RBIs, Tyler Edmiston and Dale Wirey both added a home run and two RBIs. Deron Baxter and Dalton Devine both had one RBI apiece.
Washington visits North Knox today.
