WASHINGTON — Vikings edge Chargers

PETERSBURG - Barr-Reeve edged Pike Central, 3-2, in high school tennis Tuesday.

Viking Allison Hoover defeated Emily Howes, 7-6(2), 6-7(6) and 6-2 at first singles.

Bethanie Knepp got a point for Barr-Reeve at third singles against Brandi Ruble, 6-4, 6-2.

Baleigh Miller-Hania Sisco earned a point for the Vikings in first doubles, defeating Kenna Langabaugh-Kerrsten Milller in straight 6-1 sets.

Wins for Pike Central went to Hope Waltz at second singles against Melody Rohrer, 6-4, 6-0, and at second doubles to Aspen Childress-Cayla Mahoney against Lynetta Graber-Kaitlin Swartzentruber, 7-6(4) and 7-6 (1).

Baley Graber won a singles reserve match for the Vikings, 6-0.

Bloomfield blanks Lions

LOOGOOTEE - Bloomfield defeated Loogootee, 5-0, in high school tennis Tuesday.

In singles, Kari Schulte defeated Emily Bateman, 6-0, 6-2, Liza Bartlett defeated Erin Nelson, 6-0, 3-0, and Elena Weddle defeated Shayna Stuffle, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Amanda Livingston-Emily Bucher topped Michala Beasley-Tara Pennington, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, and Morgan Judy-Katelyn Van Sant won in straight

6-1 sets against Hannah Walters-Christina Ziegler.

Ashley Jones won a reserve match for the Lions, 6-1, and in reserve doubles, Emma Walters-Kaitlyn Dickens won 6-3.

Cougars defeat Lions

LOOGOOTEE -¬ North Daviess defeated Loogootee, 4-2, Monday in a junior high girls tennis match.

Cassie Atchley defeated Kristen Norris 4-1, and then defeated Jody Phills 4-2. Loogootee¹s Katie Sims defeated Madaline Riggins, and then Brianna Holloway beat Riggins 4-2. Cassie Atchley-Madaline Riggins defeated Savana Mcate-Abby Williams 4-3, and then the North Daviess duo defeated Leonna Hedricks-Corrie Hedricks 4-1.

Barr-Reeve beats Loogootee

MONTGOMERY -¬ Barr-Reeve defeated Loogootee Tuesday, 3-2, in junior high girls tennis  to finish the regular season with an 8-0 record.

At No. 1 singles, Lions’ Kylie Hall defeated Bailey Tanksley 8-3. The Lions only other victory was at No. 1 doubles where Breanna Hollaway-Abbie Williams rolled past Emma Steiner-Krislyn Knepp 8-1.

Leah Bullock beat Eden Jenkins 8-7 in No. 2 singles and Brianna Yoder bested Jody Seals 8-3 at No. 3 singles. Barr-Reeve’s No. 2 doubles team of Amy Wittmer-Natalie Schultheis clinched the victory with an 8-3 win over Savannah McAfee-Kylie Sims.

In reserve matches, Jayna Wagler-Marissa Helms defeated Haley Burch-Brittany Potts 6-0. Janae Graber -Mary Lang beat Elly Wagler 6-2. Bailey Graber-Bailey Tanksley defeated Heather Harshaw-Taylin Trambaugh 6-0. Paige Neukam-Jenae Knepp beat Breah Bailey-Rachel Robinson 6-1. Nicole McMullen-Abbie Bennett defeated Emily Thomas-Kendra Lythgoe 6-2.
