Barr-Reeve bested by Bloomfield

MONTGOMERY — The Barr-Reeve girls’ tennis team (7-5) lost to Bloomfield 3-2 Wednesday afternoon. Allison Hoover lost her No. 1 singles match to Bloomfield’s Kari Schulte (6-1, 1-6, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, Barr-Reeve Melody Rohrer fell to Liza Bartlett (7-5, 6-1) and at No. 3 singles, Bethanie Knepp lost to Elena Weddle (6-1, 6-2).

Despite losing all three singles matches, the Vikings fared much better in doubles competition. The Barr-Reeve No. 1 doubles team of Destiny Kidwell-Hania Sisco beat Amanda Livingston-Emily Bucher 6-2, 6-3. Baleigh Miller-Kaitlin Swartzentruber defeated Morgan Judy-Katelyn VanSant 6-0, 6-1.

In reserve matches, Emily Lee beat Heather Heaton 8-5, and Shania Yokem lost to Lexi Place 8-2. Maria Colvin-Breanna Traylor lost to Mariah Long-Rachel Hasler 8-5. Bethany Swartzentruber-Baley Gabhart defeated Blaise Mattot-Jocelyn Gadberry 8-1.
