For the second time this season, Northeast Dubois got the best of Barr-Reeve in girls tennis.
Northeast Dubois defeated Barr-Reeve 5-0 Thursday afternoon to win the Loogootee girls tennis sectional.
The Jeeps defeated the Vikings in a marathon three-and-a-half hour 4-1 victory on April 15 at Dubois. Thursday’s match wasn¹t quite as long, but still lasted more than two hours before Dubois could claim the sectional crown.
In No. 1 singles, Michaela Stemle defeated Allison Hoover 6-3, 6-3, and Kendra Schroering defeated Melody Rohrer 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Lena Kleinhage bested Bethanie Knepp 7-5, 6-1.
At No. 1 doubles, Jenna Stemle-Talia Terwiske defeated Destiny Kidwell-Hania Sisco 6-4, 6-3. In No. 2 doubles, Jennifer Schepers-Andrea Smock defeated Baleigh Miller-Kaitlin Swartzentruber 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
