After two subpar outings, Barr-Reeve needed a good performance to end the regular season. They got that from Addison Wagler.
The Vikings (20-1) defeated Bloomfield (11-10) 51-39 Friday evening in its last tune up before the state tournament begins tonight. Barr-Reeve jumped out to a 10-7 lead after the first quarter. The Vikings got points from five different players with Myron Stoll leading the way with three points. In the second quarter, the Vikings continued to add to their lead by outscoring the Cardinals 17-12 to take a 27-19 lead into halftime.
Bloomfield's Ben Hays led all scorers at halftime with 10 points, while Wagler and junior Micah Bullock led Barr-Reeve with six points apiece.
In the third quarter, the Cardinals outscored the Vikings 13-12, but they still trailed 39-32 entering the fourth. The final quarter belonged to Wagler. The sophomore forward scored six of the Vikings 12 fourth quarter points to finish off the Cardinals.
In addition to Wagler¹s 16 points, Bullock had 10, Jacob Bledsoe seven, Brandon Wagler had six, Heath Graber five, Chris Wittmer had four and Myron Stoll scored three points.
