WASHINGTON — South Knox edged Barr-Reeve, 3-2, in a Blue Chip Conference tennis match Thursday.
Melody Rohrer defeated South Knox¹s Autumn Asdell, 7-6 (7-3 tiebreaker) and 6-3. Baleigh Miller-Kaitlin Swartzentruber won at second doubles for the Vikings, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Bailey Dillon won first singles for South Knox against Allison Hoover, 6-3, 6-4, and Amanda Cummins topped Barr-Reeve¹s Emily Lee, 6-2, 6-0, at third singles..
Alyssa Koby-Cassie Rehwald won first singles against Vikings Destiny Kidwell-Hania Sisco, 6-3, 6-4.
“This was a tough conference loss, however I was very proud of number two doubles for getting a three-set win,” Barr-Reeve coach Mandy Hannah said. “Melody (Rohrer) came back from 0-3 in the second set to get a win. I was very pleased with the mental toughness and determination she showed throughout her match.”
In reserve matches, Bethanie Knepp-Baley Gabhart split 6-0, 3-6 and Lynetta Graber-Maria Colvin won 6-3.
