Washington out slugged North Daviess, 15-10, at the Sports Complex Monday.
The teams traded the lead three times with Washington scoring twice in the bottom of the first for a 2-0 lead.
North Daviess came back with four runs in the top of the second before Washington responded with four runs of its own for a 6-4 lead at the end of the third.
North Daviess rallied with three runs in the top of the fifth to lead after Washington scored a single run in the fourth for a 9-7 advantage.
The Hatchets added two runs in the bottom of the fifth and then scored six in the sixth inning for a 15-9 lead.
The Cougars scored once in the top of the seventh.
Jake Bedwell had four RBIs on three hits, including a double for Washington (14-12). Tyler Edmiston drove home three with three hits, including a double.
Zack Scheid and Tyler Seibert each drove home two. Nick Gray and Brayden Walls each had one RBI apiece. Walls had the third Washington double.
Bedwell pitched six innings for Washington and received the win. Coleton Garland pitched the seventh for Washington.
