---- — Hatchets fall to Jasper

JASPER — The Washington volleyball team lost in three straight games (13-25, 15-25, 19-25) to Jasper Thursday evening. Jordan Carr led the Hatchets with 13 assists, nine digs and five kills. Megan Arnold and Emily Sullender had six kills apiece. Lauren Terry had one ace.

Hatchets win two

The Washington boys tennis team (8-1) won two matches this week over Pike Central and Princeton both in 5-0 victories.

The junior varsity won all three matches against Pike Central and they went 5-2 against Princeton to improve their record to 8-0 this season.

Lions defeat Cardinals

The Loogootee volleyball team defeated Washington Catholic in three straight games (25-8, 25-12, 25-8) Thursday evening at the Birdcage.

The Lions were led by Demi Richardson’s 22 assists. Addyson Aiman had seven kills, while Taylor Hayes and Michala Beasley had five a piece. Lauren Bowling had 11 digs, while Waylee Wagoner had six and Kylie Hall had dive. Hall led the Lions with 15 service points.

Mary Ann Wichman had three digs and two kills. Rachel May had one ace, four digs, and three blocks. Sarah Wild registered two assists and three digs. Shaina Bradley added one ace, four digs and one kill.

North Daviess loses to Northeast Dubois

DUBOIS — The North Daviess volleyball team lost in three straight games (16-25, 13-25, 18-25) to Northeast Dubois.

Jessica Miller had eight kills, one ace, three digs. Taylor Jeffers added four kills, one ace, one block, eight digs. Chandra Bruner registered four kills, one ace, one assist, and five digs. Madison Reed had two kills, four assists, five digs. Morgan Wadsworth had one kill, two blocks, eight digs. Lenzi Brewer registered two aces, 10 assists and six digs.

Randi Pershing had seven digs. Alexis Reed had four digs. Nicole Woodruff with six digs.

WC beats Salem

The Washington Catholic girls soccer team defeated 4-3 Thursday evening. The Cardinals had goals from Elizabeth Perkins, Macy Kane, Morgan Smith and Christina Smith.

Hatchets defeat Rivet

The Washington junior high boys tennis team defeated Vincennes Rivet 4-1 Thursday evening. The Hatchets improved to 7-0 this season by beating Rivet for the second time this season.

John Rook won 8-3. Caleb Arthur lost 3-8. Zach Gray won 8-3. Brysen Graber and Trey Reed won 8-4. Braden Kixmiller and Owen Gray were down 2-7 before winning the last six games in a row to win 8-7.

Drake Harman won in singles 6-3. Nate Napier and Kaden Graber won in doubles 6-3.

Hatchets fall to Boonville

The Washington eighth grade team beat Boonville 13-25, 25-22, 15-14.

Havyn Myer had 19 service points with seven aces. Jalynn Austin had seven service points with five aces and Lakota Jones had five kills.

The seventh grade lost to Boonville 25-19, 15-25, 11-15. Marlene White had eight service points.

Forest Park tops Loogootee

The Loogootee boys tennis team (0-8) lost to Forest Park 4-1 Thursday afternoon.

The Lions lone victory came Gabe Nolley at No. 1 singles, in a 6-1, 6-1 decision. The junior varsity lost 5-2. The two Lion victories came from No. 1 singles Landon Bell (8-3) and at No. 4 doubles from Pryce Hedrick and Jacob Nonte.

Vikings defeat Forest Park

The Barr-Reeve eighth grade volleyball team (4-1) defeated Forest Park in two straight games (25-11, 25-14).

The Vikings’ top servers were Nicole McMullenw ith 11 and Kacey Jones with 10.

The seventh grade (5-0) won two straight games (25-15, 25-11) Thursday evening. The Vikings’ top servers were Hunter Emmons and Kenzie Swartzentruber with eight apiece and Marissa Helms with seven.
