---- — Hatchets top Heritage Hills

LINCOLN CITY — The Washington girls soccer team (4-3-1) defeated Heritage Hills Thursday evening 1-0. Sophomore Jenna Johnson scored the lone goal of the evening off an assist from senior Lupe Perez.

Washington downs Mt. Vernon

The Washington boys tennis team defeated Mt. Vernon 3-2 Thursday evening at Lena Dunn Elementary School. Lucas Miller won in straight sets at No. 1 singles and Jacob Luttrell lost at No. 2 singles in three sets. Jacob Overton also lost at No. 3 singles in straight sets. Tyler Stoll and Corey Thompson won at No. 1 doubles in straight sets and Jonathan Harner and Jake Bedwell did the same at No. 2 doubles.

Vikings fall to Bloomfield

BLOOMFIELD — The Barr-Reeve boys tennis team lost to Bloomfield 3-2 Thursday afternoon. John Cangelosi, Tyler Benett and Jeff Parsons all lost in singles matches for the Vikings. Barr-Reeve won both varsity doubles matches. Clay Cummings and Trevor Steiner won 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, the Vikings won in straight sets.

Lions defeat Forest Park

FERDINAND — The Loogootee volleyball team (11-1) defeated Forest Park in three straight sets (25-17, 25-12, 25-22) Thursday evening. Christina Ziegler and Michala Beasley led the Lions with 15 kills each. Demi Richardson added 34 assists and 15 service points. Waylee Wagoner led Loogootee with 20 digs.

Vikings defeat Union

The North Daviess seventh and eighth grade volleyball team defeated Union in two straight sets (25-21, 25-20). Kaitlen Mowery had eight points and one ace, Kaitlyn Allen had two points, one ace and one kill. Chloe Wilson scored three points and one ace. The eighth grade won in three sets (25-21, 17-25, 15-2). Kylie Kaho scored 12 points and one kill, Kelsey Morris added seven points, Myranda Knepp added six points and two aces. Ashtin Wilson scored two aces and two kills and Ali Jo Byrer registered two aces and two kill
