WHS, B-R cross country at Prides Creek

PETERSBURG — The Washington boys cross country team finished fifth and Barr-Reeve finsihed sixth in the Pike Central Invitational Saturday at Prides Creek Park. The Hatchets (137) and Vikings (173) finished behind South Knox (74), Wood Memorial (115), Gibson Southern (133) and Castle (134). Barr-Reeve's Jarit Perkins finished first overall, while KC Heller finished seventh overall as the Hatchets highest finisher. The other finishers for Washington were Drew Brothers (15), Austin Gray (20), Koty Hatton (37), Dalton Short (58), Colton Garland (60) and Timber Shelton (67). After Perkins, the finishers were Martin Walker (34), Sam Craney (41), Kurt Bauer (45), Kalen Ochs (52), Chayse Wagler (65) and Josh Graber (81).

The Washington girls team finished 15th with a score of 439. Brandi White finished 37th as the top finisher for the Hatchets. Rebecca Guthrie (88), Lauren Atienza (100), Cara Atienza (106) and Sydni Reister (108) were the other finishers for the Hatchets. Barr-Reeve didn't have a team score, but Emily Schultheis finished fifth overall and Cassidy Brothers finished 62nd.

B-R volleyball at Blue Chip

MONTGOMERY — The Barr-Reeve Jr. High girls volleyball team defeated Vincennes Rivet (25-13, 25-11), Loogootee (25-16, 25-20) and Northeast Dubois (25-19, 25-23) Saturday at the Blue Chip Conference Tournament. Bailey Graber was the top server with 35 for the Vikings.
